Sevens: a guide for your next round

Begin with the basic rule, then follow the result of your action. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.

Four-player free Sevens with three local computer opponents. This table uses the seven-of-diamonds opening and low Aces.

Something to practise

Use the controls beside the game rather than guessing the rules. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end. Start a new round when you are ready to try again.

The goal to keep in mind

The example and rules describe the same game you can play above. Play every card to four suit sequences that expand outward from their sevens.

Work through the instructions

  1. A standard deck is dealt to four players, thirteen cards each.
  2. The holder of 7♦ must play it first. Other suits can open with their own seven.
  3. Extend the low end or high end of an open suit by one rank. Aces are low below twos; kings are the high end.
  4. Play a legal card whenever possible. Passing is allowed only when no card fits.
  5. The first player with an empty hand wins the round.

Getting comfortable with the controls

Read the position before choosing your next action. Tap an enabled card from your hand. The suit rows show cards already played. Use Pass only when it is enabled. Try the rule on the board, then read the next instruction.

Follow the example

A careful first move helps you understand the round. After 7♥ is opened, 6♥ or 8♥ can be played. 5♥ must wait until 6♥ is on the table. The game area remains available above the explanation.

Check this before moving on

Check the rule below as you play. A matching rank in another suit does not extend an existing row. Every suit has its own sequence. The game area remains available above the explanation.
